South Jersey Classics is pleased to present what may be the most popular year for the iconic Camaro nameplate... The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS. This first-generation 69' Camaro is the king of the 60s muscle car scene. Camaro was Chevy & General Motors' answer in 1967 to the new pony car segment created in 1964 by the Ford Mustang. Chevrolet's newest Muscle car was a huge success selling a total of 243,085 units for the 1969 model year, its 3rd and final year for the 1st generation. Powering this beast currently is a 427 Turbo-Jet V8 sporting 425 HP with a 4-Bolt Main, LS6/LS7 GM Heads & Intake, Stainless Headers, Flowmaster Exhaust, Comp Cam Roller Rockers, and a Crane Blue Print Camshaft, the motor is currently dressed up to look like the original 396 with 396 badging. This beautiful 69' Camaro reads code X22 on the trim tag and is believed to be ordered from the factory with a 396 Turbo-Jet V8 Big Block, the biggest factory motor option you could get with the exception of the highly rare 427 COPO and 427 Yenko S/C Camaros. Although was this Camaro was ordered with a TH400 transmission the previous owner has swapped that transmission out for the 4-Speed manual transmission, giving the ultimate driving experience. We have the original Turbo 400 transmission and parts that were changed when it was converted and will be included in the sale as well as the original owner's manual. Backing that 4-Speed manual transmission is a 12 Bolt Posi. Stopping this beast is front power disc brakes, also for the drivers convince this vehicle is equipped with power steering. The body is finished in its original code 72 "Hugger Orange" iconic color with painted black stripping. The trim tag on this Camaro shows code 72 72 for Hugger Orange on the Upper and Lower Body. There are a few blemishes in the paint, two small areas on the bottom of the passenger door and an area on the passenger fender on the top of the car. Overall looks awesome and is a true Big Block Hugger Orange Camaro!
